Fabio began his studies at the University of Rome, and is now pursuing his PhD at the University of Surrey, in Guildford, Surrey. In submitting for his scholarship, Fabio shared a paper he coauthored and submitted to the 25th American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Communications Satellite Systems Conference in Seoul, Korea, titled “DVB-RCS Mobility Management in Vehicular Satellite Networks.” His ongoing studies focus more on the potential for the DVB-RCS standard to form a platform upon which such modules as IP multicasting may be staged. He hopes to study in particular the management of link layer and network layer mobility in geostationary networks. 

Fabio received the Broadcast and Networking (UK Chapter) Scholarship in 2007.
