Katina Mruk

Associate Director of Strategy and Transactions, RKF Engineering Solutions

After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics at SUNY Geneseo, Katina Mruk began her career as a Sales Analyst at Sheehan Family Companies. She quickly advanced to Corporate Sales Analyst and then Manager of Strategic Initiatives, honing her skills in creating and executing strategic programs and growth initiatives by collaborating with internal cross-functional stakeholders and external value chain partners. While working at Sheehan Family Companies, Katina earned her Masters of Business Administration at Northeastern University. She then moved on to a position as Senior Analyst for The AZEK Company, continuing to build her professional repertoire to include strategic brand acquisitions, go-to-market programming, new product launches, sales compensation modeling and automation, business intelligence and analytics program development and financial planning and analysis.

Katina joined the space and satellite industry in 2021 as an analyst on the Regulatory team at RKF Engineering Solutions, LLC. She quickly advanced within the organization to her current position, in which she leads the RKF transaction practice, providing due diligence and spectrum valuation services to clients globally. Katina offers clients relevant insights and analyses that support strategic business moves and investment planning, enabling critical investment decisions and transactions to go forward. While working at RKF Engineering, Katina led two emerging space technology due diligence studies for investor clients that resulted in a combined $800 million investment to date. Her meticulous evaluation of current markets, determination of technology readiness and forecasting of potential business impacts were all key to the success of the two startup clients, both of which are still gaining market traction and investments as of 2024. Katina’s analyses have informed a wide range of deals, from equity investments to debt financings and mergers and acquisitions. She is known in particular at RKF Engineering for her ability to cultivate a collaborative work environment that supports clients and her colleagues as well.

Outside of her work responsibilities, Katina co-chairs the SSPI-WISE Sustainment & Infrastructure working group. In this role, she uses her business strategy and financial analysis skills to launch and promote new initiatives and events aimed at empowering and connecting women to the space and satellite industry. Katina is also actively involved in the space and satellite community of New York City, where she serves as a mentor and supporter of newcomers to the industry, providing guidance on the industry landscape and commercialization strategies.
