Emily A. Schubert
Payload Systems Engineer, The Boeing Company
Emily began her career as an intern at Boeing for two years before graduating with her BS in Astronautical Engineering. She joined Boeing full-time after her time as an intern, while also working on her Masters degree. As an intern, Emily supported system tests for an Intelsat program and system design activities for multiple customers. She became the payload lead on SES-15, a complex high throughput satellite that will provide advanced aero, internet and broadcast services. Emily worked directly with the customer on the SES-15 campaign to come up with balanced payload design solutions that would maximize performance while meeting the customer’s business needs. She also negotiated the technical requirements and coordination within Boeing’s team for the project. After the SES-15 success, Emily moved on to the Intelsat-37e program, where she took over as lead payload engineer for the entire satellite and guided the program through multiple successful test phases.
