The SSPI Luxembourg Chapter invites you to listen to P.J. Blount, a Research Fellow in Cybersecurity Governance and Regulation at SES and the University of Luxembourg. In his session, we will take a look together at cybersecurity for the space industry from a legal perspective. Though cybersecurity is often considered a technical domain, law and policy are significant drivers in how organizations develop their approaches to cyber secure operations. This talk will discuss the law and policy aspect of cybersecurity with a special emphasis on the unique aspects of the space domain.

About P.J. Blount
P.J. Blount is a Research Fellow in Cybersecurity Governance and Regulation at SES and the University of Luxembourg. His current research is funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund through an Industrial Fellowship. He also serves as an adjunct professor for the program in the Air and Space Law at the University of Mississippi School of Law, and in 2017, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Beijing Institute of Technology School of Law. Blount’s primary research areas are legal issues related to Space Security and Cyberspace Governance. He has published and presented widely on the topic of Space Security Law and has given expert testimony on Space Traffic Management before the U.S. House of Representatives’ Subcommittee on Space. Blount serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the ”Proceedings of the IISL”, and was formerly the Editor-in-Chief of the ”Journal of Space Law”. He is the Executive Secretary of the International Institute of Space Law and a licensed attorney in the state of Georgia (USA).
